Radio Star

Willie truly inspires me. He'll get an idea and just give it a try. I'm beginning to think he has zero fear of rejection (or maybe it doesn't cross his mind that rejection is an option, which too is admirable). Here is just one PRIME example.

He and other employees at work wanted to do something to help the community during Christmas. During one of their meetings, someone mentioned calling the radio station...so a few days ago out of the blue he did just that. (Honestly, who just dials up the radio station?)

He called a local country station and let them know what he had in mind and to make a long story short, Cub Country 94.5 will be doing a 12 Days of Christmas "Help for the Holiday" giveaway courtesy of Moneytree.

We listened to the radio this morning as the DJ's were explaining how it will work and the boys were going crazy. "Dad, they just said Moneytree!" and "Dad, they said Willie...you're Willie...Dad they're talking about you!" He is truly famous at our house now because they said his name on the radio. (As if the boys needed another reason to adore him more...)

Anyone can fax (775-323-1450), or e-mail (www.jay@lotusradio.com) the information of a family in need and twice a day for 12 days the radio station will be choosing someone to received $250.00! If you know someone in the Reno/Sparks/Tahoe area that could use a hand for Christmas, let them know.

You can also listen online! It is fun to listen to them promoting this on the radio (especially when they mention Willie) and I can't wait to hear the stories of the people that will be receiving help. Every weekday beginning Thursday the families that will get the money will be receiving a phone call on the air at 6:10 and 8:10 a.m. Listen in, won't you? Maybe you'll even get to hear our radio star, Willie!

Willie: You were always one to put the needs of others before your own. You are a great example of what Christmas is all about. Merry Christmas, bro, and I love you.
