Rainy-Day Gardening

It has rained almost all day today but that didn't stop us from working on the garden. Rain or shine, we (mostly me) are determined to get a garden in. No garden pictures yet. You'll have to wait until we're finished. Well okay, here's a sneak peak of some of what we got done today. The boys found a worm that was still partly stuck in its hole and they couldn't get him out. They have found several worms with all the rain and each one has received a name (Fred, Joe, Steven, Francee, and Apple) and a new home. These two crack me up!But the funniest moment of the day goes to Willie. He didn't want to be wet but wearing a coat made him hot (because of all his hard working) so he came up with this little number. Yes, he is wearing a garbage bag. I could not take him seriously in this thing and to make it worse, he kept making hilarious comments like "The neck's a little tight" and "Looks like I'm a full 13 gallons." He can always make me laugh.
Even though we were soaked and muddy and I'm already sore (never a good sign of what's to come), I really enjoyed working side by side with him today.

Hooray for you guys! I can't wait to see what you grow. Our back yard is all shade so we can't grow anything but moss. . .

Your day sounds a little more successful than ours. Concrete can't be poured in the rain. We will have to wait till next weekend. Willie is a sport and a stud. Who knows he could be making a fashion statement.

How fun! I can't wait until I can plant a garden in my backyard! You'll definitely have to post pictures when things start growing! Willie is hilarious, what great ingenuity!

Yeah a garden! The beginning looks great. I can hardly wait to see the end results (over time, of course). Willie's a crack up and very resourceful, too. Keep us updated. FYI the seminary choir has practiced "We Will Not Forget" one time. Everyone is soooo excited about singing this song. They are actually requesting more practices. The kids love this song!

I missed this one yesterday. All I can say is that, now we know Willie's taste in clothing, he is going to be much easier to shop for! Hooray for great husbands! Love, Grandma T.

Yeah for boys playing with worms! Yuck, but I bet they were having fun! And by the way, the trash bag shirt/coat was stylin!

I love your guys' garden! We're gonna be sending you a Ti plant soon. I cut the main branch from the one Mom and Dad brought from Hawaii and I have a chunk for everyone. As soon as it roots it will be in the mail. It'll have to be inside in the winter of course but I think it will do well in the warmer weather down there. I hope you guys want it because Duke is dead set on everyone in the family having a piece of the tree! He's unusually sentimental about it!
