Before and Afters

We have to pace ourselves in life, right? That's our philosophy with the backyard too. We've had to do it a little bit at a time (1) because it takes a lot of time and (2) because it takes a lot of money.

Our first summer here (2006) we lived it up in the dirt.

Our second summer (June 2007) we added the concrete, grass, and swing set.

This year (June 2008) we planted trees, added vegetable planters, and filled the swing set area with wood chips.
It doesn't seem like much but little by little we're getting it done. I love comparing the before and after shots to be able to track our slow-but-steady progress.
More pictures of the garden to come...

(I know, a bit of overkill but who knows the next time I'll have visitors? I have to make you feel like you are here!)

natalie it does look really good and really neat/clean. I know that you were worried about the bike track but it looks wonderful and like a great place to play. Lucky boys!

Natalie! I love that backyard set up. It looks amazing. Now I'm totally wishing our concrete path was curvy. So much cuter! You guys have done a great job! I can totally appreciate all the work you've done since we're right in the middle of it ourselves! Thanks for showing.

Wow! I would LOVE to have your backyard. You guys have done a really nice job on it. It looks huge to me too. Denver backyards in most areas are dinky. Nice work.

What do you mean "you don't know when you'll have visitors?" We're coming for Christmas! That sounds so far away, but so did June, and look it's here:) Your yard is coming along nicely. It is ALOT of work, but with it comes satisfation. I can hardly wait to see those trees and veggies grow!
